It is thought that the first kites were inducted into Japan from the China missionaries. A Japanese dictionary dated 981 AD was the first to record the Japanese word for kite and used the characters for "Kami Tobi" meaning paper hawk - which suggests that the first kites were bird shaped.
9-D Kite reflection. February 23, 2012 1. The good part about my kite is the design. It is done well because I like how it looks. 2. The thing that I could of done better on my kite would be the shape because its not a perfect circle. 3. The theme of my kite was my favorite super hero and its Flash's symbol. I picked this design because Flash is a beast. 4. The balance of my kite is bilateral. I picked it because that is just the balance of Flash's logo. 5. The color family I selected for my kite was red and yellow. I picked them because it was the logo. 6. I learned from this project that you have to be 100% ready to make your kite be able to fly because if you do something that is uneven on one side rather than the other, then your kite will not be as good as you wanted. 7. I made my kite the way it was supposed to look like but then I found out that the picture a got the logo from didn't have an extra slash on the bolt. It was planned but I could of made it look better. 8. This was a worthwhile project. It was really fun and Mr. Purdy doesn't have to change anything.
